Is It Weird That I Can Feel Prideful Because I Eat Less Than Others?

Sometimes when im with my friends or family, i feel quite prideful that i eat a loss less than they do…sometimes i even feel like they have no self control. However most of them aren’t overweight, i am myself trying to lose weight even though my BMI is 21. Is this an early symptom of an eating disorder, just a phase or something unhealthy?

Feeling good because you know you have control of your hunger needs is totally fine, however, these people may be eating the average amount needed and you just don’t realize it. Be careful and watch what you eat!

It’s fine to feel proud of yourself because your hunger intake is in control. However, smirking and pouting about this is just wrong, especially around family who might have their own eating disorders (however, their food intake is their own business. Just because they eat a lot DOES NOT mean they have no self control. It might just be hunger, ya know) Feel happy with what’s been given to you. Don’t go around thinking “I’m a skinny *****! WOOT!”
Also, if you medically don’t need to lose weight, then yes, it’s unhealthy and start of an eating disorder.

The formula for losing weight is not difficult – consume less food and workout more often – the difficulties arise when we really try to put that into practice! There are a lot of temptations in the big wide world aren’t there?! The one method that really worked for me is wu-yi tea, it can be seen in the resource box underneath, they have a handful of free trials in stock, it has been highlighted in Reader’s Digest and CNN. I worked off twenty pounds, it really does work!

From personal experiance, i too feel prideful when I eat less than others. However, I have an eating disorder, and I know that this feeling you get makes you feel “in control”. The truth is, you should not think about food like this. Think of food as either a pleasure, or fuel for your body. Do not think of it as “bad” or harmful, becuase that is when an Eating Disorder can develop.

I’m exactly the same as you! I’m a size 2 and I’m nearly 6foot. I always feel so good when I see my friends eating unhealthy stuff because I feel proud I have the self control not to eat like them. I constantly try and lose weight – I don’t think I have an eating disorder! I normally eat one meal a day, but thats because I just don’t get hungry and couldn’t stand eating more!

That, my friend, is an early sign of anorexia. People with anorexia often feel pride when they eat less because they feel like they have control.
    Good luck.
