Why Is It That You Eat Less When You Are Starving Than If You Are Just Hungry?

Does anybody ever experience this? Serious hunger pains and you think that you could eat everything put in front of you. However, I eat less when I am starving that when I am just hungry. Does that make sense?

yes..
when your starving its because you havent eaten in a long while… and your stomach actually starts to shrink up a little bit.. so you cant eat as much as when you still have alittle something in yout stomach and are just a little hungry.
make sense? You also usually eat very fast when your starving and end up filling up fast!!

Often, the less you eat the less your body desires…however it also slows down all your metabolic processes in an attempt to store calories/fat to keep you alive and operate your body.
The best thing to do is never starve yourself (you do more harm than good) but to eat a healthy, well-balanced diet all the time, and get plenty of exercise.

I think it has to do with your stomach shrinking. If you eat a lot it takes a lot to fill it up and make you feel full and satisfied. If you are used to not eating much your stomach is smaller, it has shrunk, so a small amount of food will fill it and make you feel full. Thats one of the secrets to dieting–eat very little the first few days of a diet so your stomach will shrink, then you can be satisfied eating less food. Keep up good nutrition at all times.
